The travel experience brought by this coffee is twofold:
The first stop is Kenya, a beautiful East African country, known for its scenic landscapes and vast wildlife preserves. Lake Victoria, one of the largest freshwater lakes, is shared with Uganda and Tanzania. In its basin, fertile and sandy loam soils in the plateaus north and south of Winam Bay are found thanks to lava deposits from Mount Elgon. The volcanic pile, on the other hand, produces highly fertile volcanic soils well known for coffee and tea production.
The Second stop is the island of Sumatra, located in Indonesia. Made up of seven provinces, the island enjoys a hot and humid climate, except in the highlands. Due to the high volcanic activity, it also boasts highly fertile soil. Fun Fact: Three national parks on the island—Mount Leuser, Kerinci Seblat, and Bukit Barisan Selatan—collectively were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004*.
