The estate's family is renowned for their commitment to the environment and their community. Their farming methods include an eco-friendly approach to powering their operations where the natural gas collected from the fermenting coffee cherries is used as fuel.  

The family also supports local education by donating books and computers to local schools and also building a new school in their community. They are also committed to aiding the Haitian population by employing immigrants. They have led a valiant charge in helping Haitians obtain legal residency in the Dominican Republic in order to receive fair wages.
